Yankees Place Greg Bird On DL In GENIUS Move

This is the smartest move the Yankees have made in a long time. Let’s face the facts and admit that Greg Bird has STUNK this year. The guy is going out there every day and batting .100 while looking totally lost at the plate. Letting guys like Ubaldo throw it 91 down the dick and just watching it go by. Simply inexcusable.

This isn’t the real Greg Bird though. You don’t put up the number he did in 2015 and in Spring Training this year, then forget how to play baseball. There is something wrong mechanically or mentally that isn’t sorting itself out, but can be fixed. The problem is, the best way to sort it out is in AAA but you don’t want to damage a guys ego that is a big part of our future.

With this 10 day DL stint, Bird can get a few day off then play a couple of rehab games in the minors to figure his stuff out and then come back. Will this 100% fix him? I have no idea, but putting him in the lineup everyday right now isn’t working either so I’m all for this move.
